Fiestas del Mar, Santa Marta’s biggest celebration, has been held every July since 1959, coinciding with the birthday of the city, the oldest in Colombia.

For over a week, the bays of El Rodadero, Santa Marta and Taganga fill with nautical parade, water sports, National and International Sea Pageant, folk parade, food festival and free open-air concerts.
